Training Requirements for the Effective ISO Implementation

July 01, 2021

Preparing for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) implementation process of any ISO standard remains a challenge for organizations of any size. How an organization prepares for an ISO implementation process will depend on the commitment and current knowledge and skills of the staff to be involved in its implementation process. This also depends on the size and complexity of each organization.

Despite the nature and complexity of businesses, a few tips will facilitate the ISO implementation process of any ISO management system i.e quality, environment, occupational health & safety, and food safety. This begins with developing the knowledge and skills of your project team through facilitating the training to build up the capacity of your staff/ team. Here are the training milestones that you must consider for building up the capacity of your staff to get your ISO implementation on the fast track. These are:

Standard Awareness Training:

The main objective of awareness training is giving an introduction to the ISO; its infrastructure, memberships, the standards development process, and procedures. It will give a basic idea about the standards, ISO benefits, procedures, etc.

ISO Foundation Training:

The objective of the foundation course is to provide a model for establishing and maintaining an effective management system based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and process approach.

ISO Implementation Training:

The ISO Implementation course introduces the concepts needed to understand, develop, and implement an ISO management system. This course covers the key elements, which contain key principles and guidance for implementing an ISO management system and explain how to integrate the family of standards during the system implementation, prepare for audits, and achieve the ISO standard registration.

This will prepare your key staff to identify key requirements, create documentation, develop project plans, and prepare a scope map.

ISO Internal Auditor Training:

An effective management system requires ongoing review and updating. This is the role of the internal auditor. They should be able to plan and carry out successful internal audits and report their findings to the senior management. Therefore, it's important that your own staff should be trained on these skills.

This Internal Auditor Training course will help delegates to plan and conduct internal audits to the best effect.
