Within IFC, under the Operations Management Department (OMD), the Knowledge and Learning unit (COMKL) promotes knowledge sharing, collaboration, and learning across IFC. COMKL’s mission is to increase efficiency and operational excellence for IFC staff through knowledge management (KM) services, collaboration tools, and learning programs. 

COMKL is looking for an Instructional Designer Consultant to support the FCS (fragile and conflict-affected situations) Insider Series Pilot.  

 

Background

The FCS Insider pilot program will consist of an eLearning course using Articulate Rise, including several multimedia elements, such as videos, text, images, and interactive materials. The Insider content will be based on IFC’s strategic priorities, in this case, the fundamentals of IFC’s FCS operations. Each course will be consumed in less than 20 minutes and will be created using preexisting learning materials (repurposing and repacking content) and new materials -when needed- produced in partnership with internal subject-matter experts.   

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of all the learning activities of an e-learning model based on Rise from Articulate  
  • Develop the contents and activities within this tool 
  • Undertake instructional design functions as agreed with TTL  

 

Key Deliverables

  • Scripts for the presenters’ videos 
  • Storyboards for multimedia videos 
  • Animations in the draft (PPT or Vyond) for the multimedia videos  
  • Content in Rise: interactive activities and videos 
  • Assist in the expert or presenters recording process  
  • Graphic design for infographics that are needed in the videos and Rise 
  • Carry out all the editions processes that are necessary: both in Rise and for multimedia videos 
  • Deliver the course ready in Rise, under SCORM standard for its migration to the OLC platform 
  • Deliver to the IFC the original project files: graphic and animated objects 

 

Required Skills and Experience

A candidate can be an educator or psychologist with more than 10 years of experience in instructional design for e-learning products, especially in developing these activities: 

  • Design and development of High-Level Instructional design documents to prepare course content structure, learning objectives, interactive activities, animated infographics, and design online learning assessments
  • Design scripts for instructional multimedia and interactive videos 
  • Design storyboards
  • Design animations for multimedia videos
  • Develop courses in Rise - Articulate using SCORM standards
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to work as a team with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify learning needs and based on this develop e-learning products  
  • Excellent skills to work under e-learning project methodology  

English proficiency is a must.

 

Approximate Contract Duration and Location

Around 40 days, subject to an extension if needed. There are no geographical restrictions for this consultancy. However, the consultant is expected to partially overlap with Washington DC (EST) work hours to attend meetings and calls.  

 

Timing

The expectation will be for duties to be initiated the last week of January/first week of February, or as soon as the contract is provided.
