I began my career in telecommunication sales with Metropolitan Communications Ltd. I moved on to the financial services sector handling non-asset-based lending with LOLC, a leading blue-chip company in Sri Lanka. My final position in the corporate arena was as Head of Marketing at Lanka Orix Factors.

On leaving the corporate sector, I engaged in consultancy and training for the government and private sectors.

I am a volunteer with Sri Lanka Scouts Association, holding the Assistant District Commissioner position. I am also involved in the training of volunteer leaders and youth. I am a master trainer for Leave No Trace. I am also an entrepreneur engaged in the manufacturing of environmentally friendly bricks.
