Kudakwashe Magwedere holds a Postgraduate diploma in Business Entrepreneurship from University of Pretoria, a Ph.D. in Agriculture (Animal Production Sciences) from Stellenbosch University in addition to a Bachelor of Veterinary Medical Science and a Master of Science in Physiology from the University of Zimbabwe. He has recently completed a Master's degree in Project Management with the University of Pretoria which is accredited by the U.S.-based Project Management Institute (PMI).

He is an expert in food and livestock systems, markets and food safety management systems and leads the development of operational risk management approaches for safe animal protein food which include enterprise sanitary compliance, global supply chain sanitary risk, enterprise application integrity and crisis management. He has more than 18+ years’ experience in livestock & poultry farming systems, markets, feed and food processing, and safety issues in the private and government sector including, conducting assessments and training on biosecurity and food safety as well as development & implementation of internationally recognized food safety standards in various companies, including food processing, food retail, and primary production facilities.

He has extensive knowledge and international experience working with internationally recognized food safety standards such as HACCP, ISO22000, ISO 17025, FSSC 22000, BRC, Global Red Meat Standard (GRMS), and GLOBALG.A.P within the food supply chain and in addition to being an FAO/WHO Joint Microbiological Risk Assessment Expert, he is a country delegate to the Codex Committee on Food Hygiene (CCFH) of the Codex Alimentarius Commission an international organization responsible for setting global food standards.

He has conducted industrial visits & appraisals to more than 100 companies across the world. He is a UNDP-trained Supplier Development Program Specialist and a Committee member of the UNDP Global Environmental Facility Small Grants Programme that embodies financial support to projects that conserve and restore the environment while enhancing people's well-being and livelihoods (sustainable development).
