Praviin B Kumaar is a senior business strategy and rural marketing/distribution expert engaged as a consultant with the Lighting Asia/India Program of the International Finance Corporation (IFC, part of the World Bank Group). Praviin is a postgraduate from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA), one of the leading Rural Management Institutes in India. He has 28 years of work experience with leading corporations in India like Nerolac Paints, Godrej Agrovet Ltd, and Tata Teleservices Ltd, in Sales and Business head roles. He specializes in business strategy and distribution management, with extensive work experience and insights into the Indian markets-urban and rural, across geographies in India, and to a limited extent, Bangladesh and parts of Africa. He has been training sales and senior management teams of clients of the IFC program for over 8 years now. He has also trained the field operation teams of the marketing agency which delivered the largest ever consumer-facing awareness campaign for IFC in India and helped the IFC team in Bangladesh with the design of a similar campaign. A successful business leader- he counts people management and communication skills as his core competencies among the soft skills he possesses. He enjoys reading and has a passion for macroeconomics.
