I am a financial economist specializing in financial modeling, risk modeling, and forecasting financial markets. I am currently employed as a Financial Mathematics lecturer within the Institute of Mathematical Sciences at Strathmore University, Kenya. I am also a director at Mahiri QuantFin Ltd, a boutique quant advisory firm based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Before joining Strathmore University and Mahiri, I was a Corporate Finance Manager at KPMG in Kenya. I have held various financial consulting appointments in the private and public sectors across Africa throughout my career. My consulting assignments have revolved around corporate finance, project finance, and quantitative finance, including risk modeling.
I am a seasoned trainer with over twelve years of training experience. In this capacity, I have facilitated both in-house/customized training programs and open market training in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, and Ethiopia. I participate as a technical reviewer in industry awards, including the Financial Reporting (FiRe) Awards, Banking Awards, Insurance Awards, and Investment Awards. I am also an accredited financial modeler with aptitude in MS Excel, Eviews, R-Programming, Matlab, and STATA.
I hold a master's degree in banking and finance, specializing in Financial Markets, and a first-class bachelor's degree in finance. I am an active member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) and passed the level II exam of the CFA program in 2012. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Cape Town.
