Cynthia has worked with MSMEs in Kenya for more than 10 years and has been in capacity building, coaching, and training for the last 7 years. She is a trainer for the ILO Start and Improves Your Business (SIYB)

She currently trains and coaches SMEs and MSMEs on marketing, record keeping, planning, costing, staffing, cash flow management, productivity, and stock control among other areas.

Her work with training MSMEs began while she worked as a relationship manager and branch manager for Equity Bank. While many MSMEs were running profitable businesses, they needed guidance on how to keep proper records and create structures in their businesses in order to qualify for loans and further improve profitability. This experience gave her a clear grasp of the training needs and gaps both from the MSME and the Lender’s (Bank), perspective.

Other organizations that she works with include the Sinapis Group, where she runs a 9-week modular program for Entrepreneurs called Aspire, the Kenya School of Monetary Studies, and the Kenya School of Revenue Authority.

Cynthia has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Marketing and also trains in the areas of leadership and soft skills
