Patricia is a seasoned corporate lawyer, administrator, and governance practitioner with over 16 years of experience gathered in the legal practice and corporate world - majorly in the financial services sector. She is also a registered Certified Secretary and an accredited Governance Auditor with the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya (ICS). In addition, she is a qualified Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Commissioner of Oaths, a Notary Public, and holds an MBA from Strathmore Business School.

She has served as a key legal advisor and company secretary to various management teams and boards of directors in the financial services industry and not-for-profit sectors. She also has experience in building and managing stakeholder relationships and has administrated corporate social responsibility strategies and operations. In addition, she has cross-cultural experience within the East African region, where she was nominated as secretary to a regional expansion committee.

Patricia is currently the lead governance and sustainability consultant with Akira Consult Limited (www.akiraconsult.ke) a company she established in February 2023. Her portfolio so far has seen her execute several board advisory proposals, board evaluations, and governance reviews, represent the ICS in a nominations and governance committee, advise a company based in Uganda on its structuring to consider registering as a regulated investment advisor and most trainings and webinars, her most recent one titled ‘Debunking Board Myths’ to SMEs. She is now an IFC-LPI TPMA certified trainer.

She is looking for governance opportunities in the board set-up, board advisory, board training, board evaluation, and governance audit spaces. In addition, she would consider complimentary opportunities that would make use of her great strategic, management, administrative, and relationship-building skills; and she is very keen to explore further the global arena of social impact and sustainability. She is available to travel especially if it means getting to work on her causes of interest which include financial inclusion, sustainability, inequality, healthcare, and children’s rights.
