Trainer Mekonnen Gebrewahid is a seasoned insurance executive, business leader, trainer, consultant, and entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in Ethiopia's insurance and financial services sectors. He holds an Executive MBA from Addis Ababa University, a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Asmara University, a Diploma in Computer Science, and a professional certification in Life and Health Insurance from LOMA.

He has held senior leadership positions at the Ethiopian Insurance Sector, where he served as Deputy CEO and Executive Officer for Operations. He also served as a Board Director of a Bank and chaired its Loan Review and Risk & Compliance Subcommittee.

Mekonnen is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Wisdom Insurance Brokers, Wisdom Management Consultancy, Education and Training Services, providing insurance brokerage, consultancy, training, and business advisory services. He also serves as a part-time trainer at the Institute of Financial Studies under the National Bank of Ethiopia.

Committed to continuous professional development, he is a certified IFC-LPI-TPMA Trainer. He has completed IFC's Facilitating Face-to-Face Training of Trainers (ToT), Foundations of Learning, and Fundamentals of Insurance for Young Women Professional Development (YWPD II) ToT programs.

His expertise includes finance, insurance underwriting, claims and risk management, reinsurance, corporate governance, strategic planning, leadership development, business growth, and capacity building. Through his leadership, training, and consultancy work, Mekonnen continues to contribute to the growth and professionalism of the insurance and financial sectors.
