I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Gondar and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Alpha University College. I have more than 18 years of professional experience, including over 14 years in the banking sector and four years in public education as an Economics Instructor.
Throughout my career, I have served in various professional roles, including Planning and Marketing Officer, Planning and Strategy Expert, Business Development Officer, Risk Management Officer, and currently, Enterprise Risk Management Division Manager at Nib International Bank, Ethiopia.
In my current position, I am responsible for developing and enhancing enterprise risk management frameworks, policies, procedures, guidelines, and risk appetite statements. My role also involves conducting risk assessments, promoting regulatory compliance, strengthening internal control systems, embedding a risk-aware culture across the organization, and supporting sound decision-making processes. In addition, I actively contribute to strategic initiatives and successfully participated in the Bank’s Strategic Development Program as a member of the Risk Governance Team.
Capacity building, knowledge sharing, and professional development are among my strongest passions. I am a certified trainer and regularly design and deliver awareness and training programs on risk management, fraud prevention and detection, compliance, internal controls, and risk-informed decision-making. These training programs have been delivered to branch managers, head office division managers, customer service officers, and other banking professionals across the organization.
Over the years, I have contributed to the successful delivery of awareness and capacity-building programs that have reached more than 2000 staff members. I have also participated in numerous professional development initiatives and contributed to promoting best practices in risk management, governance, compliance, and organizational resilience.
My interest in participating in this Training of Trainers (ToT) program stems from my strong commitment to enhancing my facilitation, instructional design, and adult learning capabilities. I view this opportunity as an important platform to further strengthen my ability to design, develop, and deliver impactful training programs that facilitate effective knowledge transfer and support sustainable capacity-building initiatives within my organization and the broader financial sector.
Through this program, I aim to improve my effectiveness as a trainer, facilitator, and mentor, enabling me to make a greater contribution to organizational learning, professional development, and the cultivation of a strong risk-aware culture. I am confident that the knowledge, skills, and practical methodologies gained from this training will enhance my ability to support colleagues and stakeholders through continuous learning, collaboration, and the sharing of best practices.
