The She Trades in the Commonwealth project is a UKAID funded project that aims to generate 28 Million USD in international trade and connect 1 Million Women to Markets by 2021. Phyllis coordinates among women business owners, business support organizations and private sector to ensure that Kenya contributes its share in four sectors (agribusiness, textile apparel & handicrafts, IT & BPO and tourism).

As a woman in technology, she runs an online flower shop www.sendflowers.co.ke since 2012, which yearly delivers thousands of fresh flower bouquets in Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and recently, Geneva.

Phyllis attended the first ever Fortune/ State Department Mentorship program in USA in 2006 and launched a Leadership training firm - Edge Consult Limited thereafter. Edge Consult has worked in partnership with Vital Voices Global Partnership on programs such as VVLEAD and VV GROW. Edge has been actively engaged in corporate training and organizational development consultancy in Sub Sahara Africa for clients such as USAID, UNICEF, UN ITC, UNSOM, World Bank, IFC, Access Kenya, Kenya Airways, UNGA Group, Barclays bank, Heineken-Maxam and Twiga Chemicals.

Phyllis holds a Bachelor degree in Business Management from Moi University and a Higher National Diploma from The Institute of Human Resource Management. Other certifications include, NLP Certified Practitioner, IFC Business Edge facilitator, ILO WEAS facilitator and Internationally accredited Value Added Associate (VAA) with the Target Training International (TTI) Success Insights assessment (TTI - used by 75% of fortune 500 companies to hire, train, grow and place its human capital for optimal performance)

2013 - The International Award for Women (TIAW) - Entrepreneurship Category. Canadian Embassy, Washington DC.
2009 - Top 40 under 40 list of Women in Kenya.
2008 - as a result of the fortune program, Phyllis was a co– recipient of the first ever Goldman Sachs Rising star award as having best exemplified the leadership principles learnt in 2006. The presenters of this award were: Lloyd Blank Fein (CEO) and Warren Buffet. This was featured on the Fortune Magazine.
2006 - Phyllis attended the inaugural Fortune program. This program brought together emerging women leaders from emerging markets to learn best practice in Government Leadership and spend time with a female mentor leading a Fortune 500 company. Phyllis Mentor, Kathleen Vaughn was the EVP, Wells Fargo Bank in 2006.

Social:
Phyllis lives in Nairobi, is married with three children and enjoys learning and challenging the body and mind to attain new levels. She climbed Mount Kenya with a team of 7 friends in 2015.
