Abubakarr Turay is a multi-disciplinary statistician and economist with over 15 years of experience in socioeconomic research, labour & employment, poverty, environment and business statistics.
He holds a Master of Philosophy (M’Phil) in Economics degree from Fourah Bay College, the University of Sierra Leone; a Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Sciences (development studies) from Njala University; an Executive Master's degree in Business Administration (EMBA) from St Clements University; a Bachelor of Social Sciences (with honours) in Economics from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone; and various certificates from reputable institutions in national accounts compilation, financial programming & policies, debt sustainability analysis, business statistics, and survey sampling design and statistical analysis and impact evaluation (IE) assessments. He has vast knowledge in SPSS, STATA, MS World, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Power point software packages.
Abubakarr Turay is currently working as a consultant staff member of the Business Engineering Science and Technology (BEST); previously, for more than 15 years he had served as a statistician and as a director of the economic statistics division at Statistics Sierra Leone (Stats SL).
Also, Mr. Turay had acquired vast skills and experience in training, research, field assessments, survey and sampling design, monitoring and evaluating activities including questionnaire development, conducting pre-testing or pilot surveys, field data collection management, data processing, analysis, and reporting covering private business establishments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), ministries departments and agencies (MDAs), and households assessments.
