Mr. Khan, currently serving as director of the Leadership Development Center, has been associated with Bahria University since 2006. He was also head of the Business School at Bahria University for five years (2007-2012). As an academician, he believes that faculty at higher education institutions must actively engage in training, consulting, and research projects. The same is the aspiration with which good business schools across the globe look up to the academic staff for their active engagement themselves with industry in terms of training, consulting, and research. Following the same aspiration, Mr. Khan is actively engaged with industry and practitioners.
He researches, trains, and consults with public/private sector and higher education institutions in the areas of finance, capacity building, institutional design, and content development.
For higher education institutions, Mr. Khan has trained university staff for academic administration in addition to curriculum design and delivery, especially for business schools. Thanks to his expertise in finance and being a member of prestigious accounting bodies, he holds a deep insight into the financial designs and operations of various types of business and non-business entities including higher education institutions. Being head of the business school at Bahria University for four years, he also trains and provides consulting to universities to enable their graduates to become more employable.
In the public sector, Mr. Khan has trained and consulted for various government and non-governmental organizations. Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Privatization Commission of Pakistan (PCP), National Highway Authority (NHA), Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), National Commission for Resource Development (NCRD), National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), Higher Education Commission (HEC), Federal Public Services Commission (FPSC), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and World Bank (WB) are few to name.
In addition, Mr. Khan has also trained and consulted for various private-sector commercial organizations. Fauji Fertilizers Corporation (FFC), National Engineering Services of Pakistan (NESPAK), and Pakistan Telecommunications Corporation Limited (PTCL) are a few to name.
Mr. Khan has a keen interest in research with a core focus on devising a holistic mechanism for predicting corporate defaults and bankruptcies. He has presented his multi-disciplinary research work at international conferences in many countries, including Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Greece, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
He has traveled extensively both internationally and country-wide and has the curiosity to learn about cultures, customs, and people. He makes use of his leisure time by trekking, mountaineering, and volunteering for educating the youth about preserving the environment and learning about nature.
