William R. Dennis, II works for the Business Start-up Center (BSC) Monrovia as the Director/CEO, a local Business Development Firm established to support Small Medium Enterprise (SME) and Entrepreneurship Development in Liberia to deliver business skills training; coaching and mentoring program as well as access to finance so young people can create jobs. He has extensive experience on Supporting Entrepreneurship and Business Development from University of Twente, and International Entrepreneurship from the University of Tilburg, both of the Netherlands and participated in several capacity development programs organized by MDF, Triodos Facet, ADB, EDN, WAIFEM, GTZ, IYF, IMF etc. around Africa.
He is a certified Ready4Finance and Learning Performance Institute (LPI), a franchisee of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) a World Bank Group and Foundation BiD and has over 10 years’ experience in private sector development. He has implemented many entrepreneurship development programs and projects including Youth Employment Skills (YES) – World Bank, Branson Scholarship Program (BSP) – Virgin Unite, Business-in-a-Box (BiaB) – (IFC), Liberia IT Revolution (LiTR) and Traders’ Growth Program (TGP) – Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) & Mercy Corps, Liberia Agribusiness Development Activity (LADA) – USAID, etc.
At the BSC, he’s responsible to supervise the activities of the organization, market research, conduct trainings for entrepreneurs, identify possible partnerships with various organizations and support over 1000 businesses through technical assistance, coaching & mentoring, and access to finance, etc.
